Moms, and women who are like moms for others, you matter!  There have been days when I’ve felt like I was more of a nanny, cook, cleaning lady, laundress, driver, etc, than a mom. For many of us, moms are all of those things, but we are also much more!

Moms, you are a powerful and influential force in your family.  Even in mundane details, you are living out your love for your family.  They might not thank you, or even seem to notice how hard you work, but deep down your family knows they’d be lost without you.  Aside from taking care of day-to-day chores, Moms give love, support, encouragement and help.  They lead by example, even when they don’t realize it.  No matter the age of your children (young or grown-up), they watch what you do, how you respond, react, handle problems, treat others, talk about others, and most importantly, how you live out your faith.  They might not always agree with you, but your teachings, philosophies, and behaviors influence them!

As moms, we have the ability to love, encourage, raise up, teach, inspire, support, and be a constant reminder of God’s love in our children’s lives.

“To love another person is to help them love God.”  – Soren Kierkegaard

We are not perfect.  I make mistakes as a mom every day!  Through those mistakes I’ve modeled how to say “I’m sorry” many times!  Consequently, my sons learned how to show grace!  Ha ha.

We don’t have to be perfect, but God does want us to be a presence in our kids’ lives.

Being a mom for my sons is a gift in itself.  It’s all I need to make Mother’s Day special.

To moms and women who are like moms for others:

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!  HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY, AND GOD BLESS YOU!

And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another…      1 Thessalonians 3:12
