Today’s message is very simple
GOD IS YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER.
Think about that for a moment. Your God, the one you worship and pray to, is not just your God, He’s your Heavenly Father. The God of creation is your father and He loves you more than anyone on this earth ever can. His love is forever and unconditional.
Because He loves you so much, He wants to be a part of everything in your life. Some might think, “How can God love me? He doesn’t know me.” Or, “How could He love someone like me?”
Well, He does know you. He created you and knows your innermost desires. And He loves you despite your past mistakes or wrongdoings. God knows what you’re made of and He sees the beauty He created in you. He knows your potential and the purpose you were made to fulfill. He knows what will truly make you happy. Because God loves you so much He wants you to know the joy that can only be found in Him. And it hurts him when we push Him aside and look for happiness in places where true happiness can’t be found.
As your Heavenly Father, He wants to help you, protect you, provide for you, bless you, and shower His love upon you. You are His son or daughter and are so very precious to Him.
As your Loving Father, He wants to be in relationship with you. If you’re a parent, think about how much you love your children. Now think about the fact that God loves you even more than that!
He even sent His son, Jesus, to be your Lord and Savior. Knowing we’d make mistakes and live in sinful ways, He sent Jesus to live a perfect life and then die as a sacrifice for man’s sins. If you allow yourself to think about that, you’ll realize what an amazing gift of love that was. Jesus came to offer us freedom from sins through forgiveness and salvation – that all who believe in Him will have eternal life in heaven.
Are you keeping relationship with God? Do you find ways to spend time with Him? Worship Him? Do you share your joys, questions, doubts, fears and other emotions with Him? Do you let Him help you? I hope so. As much as He loves you, it would be a shame to shut that love out of your life.
Dear God, Your love is so great that we cannot truly comprehend the depth or bredth of it. Thank you for loving us as much as You do and for being there waiting for us to receive Your love and to show love to You in return. I pray for those who are seeking to find You, and for those who have found You to make each day a new opportunity to grow in the grace of Your love. I love you so much and want others to know you as I do – as loving God and Heavenly Father who is there for each of us. To You my Heavenly Father I pray, with Jesus as my Lord and Savior, and with the love of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
